10 Delicious Smoothie Recipes for Postpartum Weightloss

My two girls have brought so much joy to my life in so many ways. But I also have to admit that one those life changes is weight gain. Five years ago when I had my first daughter, the thirty extra pounds would sometimes take a toll on my mental health since my clothes never fit the same and certain body parts didn't "bounce back" according to how society expects a woman to. The realization came to me one fine day, while I was looking in the mirror, lamenting about what was, that I could decide to do something about what I can control and then trust my body to respond the way I hoped. Sure enough with a few diet adjustments, giving myself lots grace and patience, I learned to love my body as well as to develop a healthy relationship with food. So here are 10 of my favorite smoothie recipes that helped me in my weight loss journey.  

 

1. Berry Protein Boost

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup mixed berries
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

2. Green Detox Smoothie

  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1/2 green apple
  • 1 tbsp flaxseeds
  • 1 cup coconut water

3. Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder

4. Tropical Fat Burner

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 1/2 cup mango
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • 1 cup oat milk

  • 1/2 lemon (juiced)

  • 1/2 avocado

  • 1/2 green apple

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 banana

  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree

Soft ingredients (yogurt, nut butter).
Fruits & vegetables.
Harder items like ice or seeds on top.
